Kern doel van die pos:

Om winsgewende groei en volhoubare uitbreiding van OVK se besproeiingskategorie te verseker. Lei die strategiese groei en kommersiële prestasie van die besproeiingskategorie, bestuur die produkreeksfunksie en ondersteun takke en kliënte.

Minimum Vereistes:

• Minimum 10 jaar toepaslike ondervinding in landboubesproeiing, met bewese kommersiële en tegniese kundigheid;
• Bewese ervaring in aankope, verskafferonderhandeling, voorraad- en kategoriebestuur; bestuurs- en leierskapservaring;
• Goeie begrip van besproeiingsontwerp, pompe, pype, kleppe, filters, spilpunte, drup- en mikrobesproeiing;
• Toepaslike tersiêre kwalifikasie in landbou, besproeiing, ingenieurswese, voorsieningsketting of besigheidsbestuur sal voordelig wees;
• Kennis van besproeiingsontwerpprogramme, AS400 en lidmaatskap van SABI of ander relevante professionele liggame sal aansoeke versterk;
• Bereidheid om gereeld takke, verskaffers, bemarkers en kliënte te besoek en te reis.

Vaardighede:

• Sterk organisasie-, kommunikasie- en probleemoplossingsvermoë;
• Akkuraatheid, verantwoordbaarheid en die vermoë om onder operasionele druk te presteer;
• Diensgerigte ingesteldheid en goeie samewerking met interne rolspelers.

Verantwoordelikhede:

• Ontwikkel en implementeer die groep se besproeiingskategorie-strategie, groeiplan en jaarbegroting;
• Identifiseer nuwe produkreekse, handelsmerke, markgeleenthede en geografiese uitbreidings;
• Onderhandel verskaffervoorwaardes, pryse, kortings, rabatte, diensvlakke en eksklusiwiteit waar toepaslik;
• Bestuur en ontwikkel die Produkreeksbestuurder: Besproeiing en verseker duidelike aanspreeklikheid;
• Ondersteun takbestuurders en bemarkers met tegniese advies, groot kwotasies en gesamentlike kliëntebesoeke;
• Bepaal voorraadbeleid, omsetdoelwitte, beskikbaarheid, voorraadouderdom en die DC-/direkte-afleweringsmodel;
• Verseker produkgehalte, waarborg- en eisebestuur, verskaffernakoming en toepaslike standaarde;
• Ontleed verkoop-, marge- en voorraadverslae en rapporteer maandeliks oor prestasie en verbeteraksies;
• Lei opleiding en produkbekendstelling vir takke en verkooppersoneel.

 Core purpose of the position:

To ensure profitable growth and sustainable expansion of OVK's irrigation category. Lead the strategic growth and commercial performance of the irrigation category, manage the product range function, and support branches and customers.

 
Minimum Requirements:

• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in agricultural irrigation, with proven commercial and technical expertise.
• Proven experience in purchasing, supplier negotiation, inventory and category management; management and leadership experience.
• Good understanding of irrigation design, pumps, pipes, valves, filters, pivots, drip and micro irrigation.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in agriculture, irrigation, engineering, supply chain or business management will be beneficial.
• Knowledge of irrigation design programmes, AS400 and membership of SABI or other relevant professional bodies will strengthen applications.
• Willingness to visit and travel regularly with branches, suppliers, marketers, and customers.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement the group's irrigation category strategy, growth plan and annual budget.
• Identify new product lines, brands, market opportunities, and geographic expansions.
• Negotiate supplier terms, pricing, rebates, discounts, service levels, and exclusivity where appropriate.
• Manage and develop the Product Series Manager: Irrigation and ensure clear accountability.
• Support branch managers and marketers with technical advice, great quotes, and joint customer visits.
• Determine inventory policies, revenue goals, availability, inventory age, and the DC/direct-delivery model.
• Ensure product quality, warranty and claims management, supplier compliance, and applicable standards.
• Analyze sales, margin, and inventory reports and report monthly on performance and improvement actions.
• Lead training and product introduction for branches and sales staff.
